New Accounts Coordinator

Salary: $25K - $30K depending on experiences and qualifications, plus benefits. Essential Responsibilities: Work with banking institutions to help Vietnamese set up their first bank accounts; coordinate workshops on financial literacy; train branch staff and volunteers; and provide logistical support to the First Accounts for Immigrants and Refugees (FAIR) Program Coordinator.

Location: DC Metropolitan area New Accounts Coordinator Boat People S.O.S. (BPSOS) is a national community-based organization serving Vietnamese-Americans in 13 locations across the country. Its First Accounts for Immigrants and Refugees (FAIR) program helps Vietnamese refugees and immigrants who have been in the US for less than ten years and individuals 60 or older set up their first bank accounts. The program will be implemented in Philadelphia, Camden (NJ), DC metropolitan area and Hampton Roads (Virginia).

Salary: $25K - $30K depending on experiences and qualifications, plus benefits.

Essential Responsibilities:
1) Identify and enroll "unbanked" Vietnamese with low or moderate income;
2) Explore low-cost or no-cost banking services;
3) Work with banking institutions to help enrolled individuals set up their first bank accounts;
4) Coordinate workshops on financial literacy;
5) Train branch staff and volunteers on program activities;
6) Maintain database of enrolled individuals;
7) Track outcomes and collect performance measurements;
8) Implement community outreach and information campaign;
9) Develop replicable model;
10) Keep track of financial record;
11) Establish new partnerships with banking institutions in all service areas;
12) Provide support to the FAIR Steering Committee and Advisory Committee;
13) Provide logistical support to the FAIR program Coordinator.

Goals:
1) All program activities will be implemented on budget and on time; 2) All projected outcomes will be met;
3) All activities will be documented and reported on time;
4) Clients will receive quality services;
5) BPSOS will be well represented in the community;

Location: New Orleans. Office Manager for New Orleans Branch Office Boat People S.O.S., New Orleans serves some Vietnamese refugees and immigrants. Services include immigration and naturalization assistance, after-school activities for youths, basic ESL and computer skills instruction for adults, mental health screening and referral, tax clinics, life skills training and community outreach. Salary: $26,000 - $29,000 depending on experience and qualifications, plus benefits. Location: DC metropolitan area. Case Manager Boat People SOS, Inc. (BPSOS) is seeking a full-time Case Manager for its Community Against Domestic Violence (CADV) and Victims of Exploitation and Trafficking Assistance (VETA) Programs. BPSOS has been providing services to the Vietnamese community for over 22 years. In 2000, the CADV program was established to conduct community outreach and education on domestic violence within the Vietnamese communities in the Northern Virginia area. In 2001, VETA was created to respond to the needs of over 150 victims of human trafficking being resettled in the United States after being freed from a sweatshop in American Samoa. These programs are now seeking a Case Manager to provide on-going assistance to victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. Salary: $27K - $30K depending on experience, plus benefits. Essential Responsibilities: 1) Complete intakes and needs assessments for victims of domestic violence and human trafficking; 2) Provide support, information, services, and advocacy to victims of domestic violence and human trafficking; 3) Assist clients in accessing social services including ESL classes, health care, and public benefits; 4) Accompany clients to appointments and provide advocacy, interpretation, and translation to ensure clients' access to needed services; 5) Maintain updated files on clients and other required documentation; 6) Assist Program Manager in conducting community outreach and education on services available to victims of domestic violence and human trafficking in the Vietnamese community; 7) Assist Program staff in creating and improving education and assessment tools. 8) File monthly activities reports with the Program Manager. Goals: 1) Ensure that victims receive prompt, comprehensive quality service; 2) Establish standards of excellence in service delivery; 3) Build capacity for BPSOS headquarters and branch offices in service to victims of trafficking and domestic violence; 4) Create strategic partnerships with community-based organizations, victim advocates, and service agencies. Requirements: 1) Fluency in English and Vietnamese; 2) Bachelor's degree in social work or related field; 3) At least one year of experience in working with victims of trauma (domestic violence, family violence, sexual assault, or human trafficking preferred) required; 4) Demonstrated commitment to working with victims of domestic violence and/or human trafficking; 5) Ability to work independently and in a team; 6) Bicultural background preferred.
